Metro Gallery is a photo gallery for photographers of all levels, situated in Auckland City. This completely new concept, is based on a vision of helping talented photographers achieve their creative goals. 


The purpose of Metro Gallery is to foster and showcase New Zealand artists, with a powerful contribution to the educating and acknowledging the cultural life of New Zealand and linking with other cultures from all over the world.


Metro Gallery’s vision is to open up art, for everyone, whilst reducing barriers for access.

The gallery area is extremely spacious and well lit, and is showcasing both leading and emerging photographers art. With it's 160 m2 and 10 accessible walls, amateurs as well as professionals can access as many walls as needed for the exact exhibition they have in mind.
Available onsite is both a professional scanner and the latest A2 printing technology, with exclusive choices of premium and archive gallery paper. Our team is more than happy to assist you in scanning film negatives, doing test prints and comparing papers, making the process of setting up your exhibition easier and more enjoyable.
Metro Gallery is linked to our onsite cafe, Metro Cafe. Where you can try some of Auckland’s finest coffee.

Our newly renovated venue is located on 222 Hobson st which is within Auckland CBD.
Street parking is available on Hobson street until 4pm. Free parking on sundays.
Alternatively bus services to the central city runs from most Auckland suburbs, which will leave you with a short walk of 5 minutes to the gallery.




We take pride in our artwork, and wish to help and guide artists produce and showcase their work at its' best. 

Available on-site is a professional EPSON v800 film scanner and a commercial EPSON A2 printer, allowing customers to scan and print their own work.

The Metro Gallery team is ready to assist and guide you through the whole process ensuring the best possible result.

Our aim is to ensure a smooth and efficient process, getting art from the workbench to potential buyer's market.

Have something special in mind for an exhibition?


Our 160m2 gallery space contain 10 white walls, ranging from our smallest wall of 11m2 to our biggest measuring 16m2. It is possible to rent multiple walls over the same period, and even rent the whole gallery for a special exhibition.


If the whole gallery space is required the following would be included:

Full use of our 160 m2 gallery space, lit up with 4000 K LED non flicker lights, a manager on-site every day, power, wifi, and our on-site café, serving award-winning coffee.
